Capri Laser — PECHE Clinic, Gangnam Station

Capri Laser

The Capri Laser targets two key drivers of recurring acne together. A long-wavelength (1450nm) laser, readily absorbed by the sebaceous glands, reduces how much sebum gets made; a blue light, absorbed by a substance the acne bacteria produce (porphyrin), reduces the bacteria. Rather than squeezing out inflammation, it lowers the very conditions acne forms under.

Cross-section of skin — a long-wavelength laser absorbed into the grape-cluster sebaceous gland beside the follicle, gathering heat there, while blue light reaches the follicle opening and acts on the acne bacteria

▲ The long-wavelength laser works on the sebaceous gland, the blue light on the bacteria in the follicle — two lights with different targets, in one treatment

When to Consider It

  • Breakouts keep coming back across the face, not just one or two
  • Even with careful cleansing, heavy sebum keeps the shine and breakouts coming
  • Extraction alone isn't enough — spots fill back up within days
  • You want an acne treatment without numbing or a recovery period

Acne, scar, and pore treatment has an order: calm active inflammation first, release scars tethered at the base, then have regenerative treatment, and leave pigment for last. Capri handles the first stage — inflammation control.

What Each Light Takes On

Light Absorbed where What changes
Long-wavelength laser (1450nm) The sebaceous glands — readily absorbed by water and oil The gland takes the heat and shrinks (atrophies), so less sebum gets made
Blue light laser Porphyrin, a substance the acne bacteria produce Once the light hits it, porphyrin creates a substance that attacks the bacteria directly, and the bacteria decrease

Less sebum means less raw material for inflammation; fewer bacteria mean fewer spots flaring up again in the same place.

How It's Done

1. Cleansing and assessment Makeup comes off, and a 3D MetaVu scan records your sebum and pore state under each light source. This shows where sebum concentrates, which is the basis for setting the treatment range.

2. Treatment It proceeds immediately, without numbing. Cooling runs alongside and the pain is slight, so numbing cream usually isn't applied.

3. Finish You can return to your day right away — cleansing and makeup included.

Results and Recovery

Item Details
Action Sebaceous gland shrinkage (less sebum) + fewer acne bacteria — lowering the conditions inflammation forms under
Pain A warm, not-hot heat passing gently over the skin, with a very light tingle where the sebaceous glands concentrate
Pain control Cooling runs alongside · usually performed without numbing cream
Downtime A little redness can appear right after but tends to settle within the day · cleansing, makeup, and daily life carry on immediately
Sessions and spacing Usually 3–5 sessions at 1–2 week intervals as the baseline — adjusted at your assessment by the inflammation's state
Aftercare Sunscreen and moisturizer — the basic care that keeps lasered skin from turning sensitive
Same-day pairing Sometimes run the same day as an injection that calms inflammation quickly, or as regenerative treatments for scars and pores — the order and combination are decided together from your condition

The results build across sessions rather than completing in one. As the glands shrink and the bacteria decline, new breakouts tend to appear less often.

Side-by-side cross-sections before and after treatment — an enlarged sebaceous gland and an inflamed follicle before, a shrunken gland and a calmed follicle after (individual results vary)

▲ A shrunken sebaceous gland means less raw material for inflammation — the change appears across sessions (individual results vary)

Expected Reactions and Possible Side Effects

Common, temporary reactions — part of the normal response:

  • A little redness right after, tending to settle within the day

Anything beyond this is uncommon. If a reaction lasts longer than expected or worsens, contact us and we'll check it with you.

What We Check Beforehand

If any of these apply to you, let us know during your consultation. We adjust the timing or the order.

  • A period of severe inflammation — spots festering yellow or hardened into lumps — may do better calmed first by extraction or injection
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Medication that makes skin sensitive to sunlight (photosensitivity)
  • Recent strong sun exposure or tanning — if the skin is red and sensitized, we adjust the timing

How PECHE Clinic Does It

Range and intensity come from measured values. Where sebum concentrates isn't eyeballed — it's measurable. The 3D MetaVu scan confirms your sebum and pore state, and we decide the treatment range and intensity together while looking at the screen.

We tell you first what it can do — and what it can't. Capri lowers the conditions new acne forms under; it doesn't treat existing depressed scars or deep marks — those belong to the regeneration stage, after the inflammation is controlled. We don't push same-day payment or packages — you're welcome to come in just for a consultation.

Pricing

Capri cost depends on the treatment range and how many sessions it's divided into. We set what's needed after your assessment, then give you a quote.

FAQ

Q1. How many sessions will I need? A: Usually 3–5 sessions at 1–2 week intervals as the baseline. It varies with how long the breakouts have recurred and how heavy the sebum is, so we decide together looking at the measured results.

Q2. Can I wear makeup the same day? A: Yes. Even if a little redness appears, it tends to settle within the day — cleansing, makeup, and your day can all carry on immediately. It's easy to fit in, even with evening plans that day.

Q3. Can I have it while acne is flaring? A: You can. In a period of severe, pus-filled inflammation, though, extraction or a calming injection sometimes comes first, with this treatment following the same day. The order is set by your condition.

Q4. Will depressed scars or red marks improve too? A: That isn't what this treatment does. Capri is the stage that reduces new inflammation; depressed scars are handled by regenerative treatment once the inflammation is controlled, and leftover color marks come after that. The right order is decided together at your assessment.

Q5. Can I just have a consultation and decide later? A: Yes. You're welcome to come in just for the assessment and consultation, then leave. Decide after hearing the measured results, the expected changes, and what this treatment won't resolve.
