Juvederm

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid (HA) filler brand made by Allergan of the United States. Hyaluronic acid is a thread-like substance that holds water in your skin — placed as-is, it breaks down and disperses within days, so the threads are tied to each other (cross-linking) to make it last. Juvederm's patented method (Vycross) weaves short threads into the gaps between long ones, producing a tight mesh. The gel is particle-free with a smooth, cream-like texture, so there's little foreign-body feel; the tight mesh resists breaking down in the body; and it draws in little water, so post-treatment swelling tends to be on the lighter side.

When to Consider It

  • People say you look tired or gaunt because your upper cheeks or outer cheeks have hollowed
  • A receding chin or a soft, undefined jawline makes your profile look weak
  • You're worried about the foreign-body feel or lumpiness filler can bring
  • You'd rather have one treatment that lasts than frequent top-ups

If your concern is skin texture and fine lines rather than lost volume, the skin-booster family may fit better — and if sagging is the main issue, the lifting family may. We decide together, based on your assessment results.

The Product Range

Line Texture The kind of spot it's mainly used for
Volux Firmest Spots that need bone-like support — a receding chin, the jawline
Voluma Firm Deep-layer volume — upper cheeks, outer cheeks, temples
Volift Medium Versatile spots — deep smile lines, fuller lips
Volbella Softest Spots where delicate finish matters — fine lip lines, under-eyes

The firmer the gel, the stronger it props from beneath; the softer, the smoother the surface finish. The range above is the manufacturer's line-up — which product goes where is decided together at your assessment, from the location and depth of the hollow and the support it needs.

How It's Done

1. 3D skin analysis A 3D MetaVu scan shows your facial contours and left–right balance. The location and depth of the hollowed areas become the basis of the injection plan.

2. Treatment plan Looking at the scan together, we go over the areas, the product and amount for each, and the changes to expect — including the limits.

3. Numbing cream Applied and left for 20–30 minutes.

4. Injection The product is placed at the planned depth for each area, divided across it, with the amount adjusted as we check the left–right balance.

5. Finish The injection sites are tidied and the session ends.

Results and Recovery

Item Details
Ingredient and action Cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) — Vycross technology · a smooth, particle-free, single continuous gel
Product range Volux · Voluma · Volift · Volbella (firmest first) — chosen by area
When results show Volume is visible right at injection — the shape settles as the swelling goes down
Swelling tendency It draws in little water, so post-treatment swelling tends to be on the lighter side (individual results vary)
Can it be corrected? Yes — dissolvable and adjustable with the hyaluronic acid–dissolving enzyme (hyaluronidase)
Pain One sting as the needle first enters; after that, it's more a heavy sense of pressure and fullness than pain as the product moves in under the skin
Pain control The product contains an anesthetic ingredient · numbing cream is applied before treatment
Downtime Swelling and bruising can occur at the injection sites — how much and how long varies by area and person, so we walk you through it on the day
Spacing from other treatments After filler, radiofrequency lifting at least a month later · ultrasound lifting 1–2 months · laser lifting 1–2 weeks

The tighter the cross-linked mesh, the more slowly it breaks down in the body. How long it lasts depends on the area, the amount, and your metabolism — we give you the expected range along with the product plan after your assessment.

Expected Reactions and Possible Side Effects

Common, temporary reactions — part of the normal response to injection:

  • Swelling and bruising can occur at the injection sites — how much and how long varies by area and person, and we walk you through what to expect on the day of treatment

Anything beyond this is uncommon. If a reaction lasts longer than expected or worsens, contact us and we'll check it with you.

What We Check Beforehand

If any of these apply to you, let us know during your consultation. We postpone or adjust the timing.

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Inflammation or wounds in the treatment area — we proceed after it clears
  • Aspirin or blood thinners — bruising can be heavier, so tell us in advance and we'll plan for it
  • Filler remaining from a previous treatment — we check how much remains and plan around it
  • A lifting treatment planned — radiofrequency lifting at least a month after filler, ultrasound 1–2 months after. The injected filler needs to settle into the tissue before heat goes in. If the lifting hasn't happened yet, having it first and the filler after — even on the same day — is the easier order.

How PECHE Clinic Does It

We treat by standards built on 90,000+ documented treatments. With deep-layer volume, the depth and the amount decide the impression. Area-by-area injection standards built from over 90,000 treatments mean every PECHE physician works to the same criteria — whoever treats you.

We plan from measurements. The 3D MetaVu shows your facial contours and left–right balance; we look at the screen together and set the areas and amounts. Matched to your measured condition, not to feel.

We open the genuine product in front of you. With injectables, authenticity is the baseline of safety. The filler used in your treatment is opened in front of you, so you can confirm which product is being prepared and in what amount. You can also watch the preparation through the glass wall from the waiting area.

We recommend only the amount you need. With volume filler, where it goes matters more than how much. We carry several filler brands, choose the one that fits the area and the texture goal, and recommend only what the area needs. No same-day payment pressure, no package push — you're welcome to come in just for a consultation.

Pricing

The cost of Juvederm depends on the area, the product in the range, and the amount used (cc). We set the plan after your assessment and quote from there.

FAQ

Q1. Who performs the treatment? A: PECHE physicians who all work to the same area-by-area injection standards, built from over 90,000 documented treatments. Deep-layer volume turns on judgments of depth, amount, and left–right balance — made from your assessment results and these standards, not by feel.

Q2. I'm worried filler will leave me lumpy. A: Juvederm is a particle-free, smooth gel, so foreign-body feel and lumpiness are low. That said, what matters as much as the gel's character is choosing the right product in the range for the area and the right injection depth — so we confirm the hollow and your condition during your assessment, and pick the product that fits the spot.

Q3. Will I swell a lot afterward? A: Juvederm draws in little water, so swelling tends to be on the lighter side — but swelling and bruising vary by area and person. If you have an important event coming up, leave yourself extra time; we'll walk you through the expected course on the day.

Q4. What's the difference between Volux and Voluma? A: Firmness. Volux is the firmest in the range, for spots that need bone-like support — a receding chin, the jawline; Voluma is for filling deep-layer volume at the upper cheeks and outer cheeks. Which fits is decided together after confirming the area and how pronounced the hollow is, during your assessment.

Q5. Can I just come in for a consultation first? A: Yes. You're welcome to come in just for the assessment and consultation, then leave. Decide after you've heard the expected changes, the limits, and the amount you'd need — we won't push extra areas or same-day payment.
